BOOK TAG : A NEW YEAR, A NEW BOOK [ORIGINAL]!

Hello wonderful readers and I wish you the happiest new year!

I am here today to bring a book tag that I originally created that matches what most of us are celebrating this time!

It's called A New Year, A New Book. It's basically answering questions about the previous and new year and the books to come and whatnot. I am excited to present my very first blog book tag and I really really hope that you'd do it as well! Make sure to tag me on facebook, instagram, twitter, or where ever so I can drop by and see what your answers would've been.

Let's begin?

A New Year, A New Book!

1. How many books have you read last year? Thoughts about your accomplishment?

  • I have actually lost track. I think I reached around 20-25? It's because almost half of the books I've read are not on goodreads so, it was a little confusing. I am happy with how many have I read because this is technically my first whole year having the chance to read. I am actually impressed with that number but not that impressed since I was able to read 5 books last 2014's summer.

2. What was your biggest regret on reading/ as a reader last year?
  • My biggest regret would have to be allowing my reading slump to become unstoppable. I allowed it to grow without noticing it. I focused on social media, sleeping, watching youtube and such. I could've balanced my time which would've gave me a much better amount of book read on 2015. And yet, I did nothing. But that's a lesson I would take with me this 2016.

3. What are you most thankful for, that happened to you as a reader, last year?

  • I have a lot to be thankful for. First, for the books that I was able to buy last year, I have had a blessed amount of books. Some of them are even signed and limited edition. Second, for being able to attend two booksingings in 2015. One was E. Lockhart's and the other one was Leigh Bardugo's (which I forgot to post an event recap with). I'm very thankful to have met two wonderful, clever, and amazing authors ever! Third, is finally getting to meet some of my bookish friends from Pinoy Book Freaks United personally and we got to talk about things and books! It was awesome and also discovering reliable sellers which I became friends with!

4. How many books are you planning to read this year?
  • I am setting up a not so ambitious amount of books to read this 2016. I want to be able to read at least 40 books. Double the amount I was able to read last year.

5. What are your goals in 2016 as a reader?
  • I have a lot of goals this year. I want to read more. To read books out of my comfort zone. To go to booksigning more and book related things like forums, etc. I want to finally be able to attend to the Manila International Book Fair this year. I want to be able to read recommended books without having doubts. I want to be friends with a lot more readers. I want to finally read and finish the Heroes of Olympus series. I also want to collect and buy anything by William Joyce because I just love The Rise of the Guardians which was kinda based on his writing. I want to collect The Guardians series and the picture books! I want to basically become the 2.0 of the reader myself.

6. What is your biggest bookish dream, that you wish to happen this year?
  • My biggest bookish dream ever is to talk (I don't even care if it's personally or in the internet) to two of my favorite authors Rick Riordan and Marie Lu. I would also love to chat with William Joyce. I just love his works. You'll hear him more often in this blog now. That is my biggest dream, ever. I mean, ever. Another one is to read and receive ARCs of any author and/or a drawing/exclusive writing of Marie Lu or Leigh Bardugo. I just want to talk to them and all. That would be so perfect.

7. If you'll wake up after celebrating the new year into a fictional place and you'll have to spend you entire 2016 there, what fictional place would it be? Who two fictional characters would you want to spend your 2016 with?
  • This is the most fun part. You probably have guessed what my fictional place would be, of course, Camp Half Blood from Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Why? Because I love it so much and it has all the fun, and amazing-ness! Who would I take with me is a much trickier question. I would have and want to take Percy Jackson with me because who can tour me there but him, right? And he is so fun and clever and I think I wouldn't be bored the entire year. The second fictional character would have to be, Jack Frost (from Rise of the Gaurdians)! Because he is equally fun and clever! I just love Jack Frost so much! I am literally obsessed with him. I think the three of us would have the time of our lives. I mean, Jack Frost, Percy Jackson, and I are relatively similar. We both suffered from some painful things but we all still manage to have a little fun. Just thinking about makes me so happy! I mean Percy and Jack Frost? Best combination ever! Both power wise and character wise. Ahh. I hope this comes true! Haha.

And that is it for my book tag! I hope you can try to do it. This is a really easy and fun book tag to do especially this month!

I am tagging EVERYONE and some of my blogger friends:

Please do it anywhere you'd like and tag me! This is a great way to start the year!

Also, I have launched my personal blog! It's named Matt Luigi and I hope you can drop by. It'll be filled with some of my personal works and I hope you'll have fun!

Also, if you haven't noticed yet, I changed my page title! It's a better font (I think) and I quite like it. More changes to come soon on this blog.

What a way to start the year, ey?

Again, a Happy New Year to all! I wish you all the best. I will have another post up very soon, let's begin again then?
